Deerfield Valley Farmers' Day Fair - Aug. 18 - 21 2011

·         Show begins at 8:30 rain or shine

·         no chaps in equitation classes

·         age based on January of current year

·         Beginner- any age, up to 17 must be inexperienced at the canter. Walk/trot only

·         Juniors-under age 14

·         Seniors-14-17

·         Adults- 18 and over

·         Adult w/t- 18 and over walk trot  only

·         Lead line- Ages 3-11

·         No child will be tied or bound in any way to their horse.  If they cannot hold on and ride independently they will be asked to leave the ring for their own safety

·         All children age 17 and under must wear a helmet when showing

·         Green horse- horses in their 1st or 2nd year of showing, riders must be 13 or older

·         Stallions must be shown by 18 and over

·         Horses not shown in any class forfeit their entry fee, unless excused by a vet.

·         The judge’s decision will be final

·         All out of state horses must be accompanied by a current year negative coggins and rabies certificate

·         All support members for rider will be required to pay general admission

·         No galloping on grounds

·         Proper show attire must be worn at all times

·         All dogs must be on leashes

·         There will be six ribbons awarded in each class

·         Known kickers must wear a red ribbon in their tail

·         If classes are cancelled due to weather fees will be returned for those classes only

Use Fair Entrance on Main St. in Wilmington located between True Value Hardware and Sunoco service station.
